Missions

The Church is relevant, vibrant and effective all around the world.  We hope to grow in passion for people worldwide, and for the Church globally, through supporting American missionaries who serve in domestic and international ministry contexts that focus on life transformation through Jesus Christ.

Currently, Hope Church is in partnership with 9 households that are doing important ministry work around the world.  Here is some information about most of them (two of our ministry partners needs to remain confidential because of the political climates of the countries they work in).

Barry & Karla Hannant

Barry and Karla Hannant are finishing up their first 3 year term as missionaries with REACHGLOBAL in Mexico City, Mexico, home to over 32 million people.

Barry is involved with Campus Ministries and using ESL opportunities to develop Healthy Leaders in a Church setting. There are currently over 20 cell groups on various campuses across the city. They meet in classrooms or right on the grounds, do worship and Bible Studies. There are 3 large Campuses nearby our address in M.C. : IPN, UAM and CCH Vallejo.  Barry is coaching one young man in a home church meeting on Sunday's right in our home.

Compassion ministries are growing as well here in Mexico City. Corazones Abiertos has two groups meeting in the Hannant's home as well. These trainings continue to encourage Mexican Nationals to reach out to the abused and wounded and in turn teach them ways to live a life in community and intimacy with God.

Karla has been working with DAYA a home for young girls (age 12-18) either pregnant or with children. These girls come from abuse and abandoned backgrounds, most were living in the street. They desire to raise their children in healthy situation, and get educations. Karla is teaching them through many projects to create and sustain an income while caring and nurturing their little ones. As well, building relationships with them and sharing in weekly Bible Studies.

The Hannant's can be reached at: 605-221-3401 (Vonage phone#- stateside )

Ray & Susan Stensgard

Ray & Susan Stensgard (and their Yorkie - Max) are church planting missionaries with Greater Europe Missions. Their field of service is Belgium. Our relationship with Ray & Susan began in the mid 1980s when they became the first missionaries that Hope Church began to support. Because of their faithful service, an evangelical church with as many as 150 attenders has been established in Wavre and another small church is alive and growing in nearby Ganshoren.

Please pray for Ray & Susan as they continue to disciple and reach out to Belgian people. Pray that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of Belgian people and bring "seekers" to them.
