Recently a sweet friend of mine posted the following on my facebook page:
She then said, "This reminds me of you." Well of course, I was flattered and my heart skipped a beat that she would think so highly of me. But then as the day went on, I thought about the people that make me feel this way... and do I tell them? Do I share with people when they have made a difference in my life?
This facebook post was such a small gesture, heck she probably was still in bed when she hit the post button! But, it impacted me and set the mood for my morning. Funny how little things can make a big difference.
We may never know the difference we make in someone's life. And that is alright.
But when God shows us opportunity, what an amazing blessing and encouragement to ourselves to continue to be the light of Jesus to someone, even with one small gesture.
Everyday Jesus allows us the privilege to love others, to show up even when we would rather stay home in our jammies. He will hijack our day in a moment if we are obedient and this is where the light shines. The difference is made and we are blessed in the blessing.
Christmas is a busy season (especially if you work at a church). I pray that you will be still long enough to hear how He will use you today.
"I will guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths." -Proverbs 4:11
Ask yourself...
Who does God want me to meet today?
Who can I encourage?
Who encourages me?
Have I let them know how much I appreciate them?
Have I shown the light of Christ to others, today?
Jesus' love for us encourages us everyday, and we need to keep shining His light everyday.
All it takes is one person to be willing to make a difference in someone else's day, someone else's life, for a grassfire of blessing to spread, through an office, through a home, through a church, through a community, through a world!
Be the spark that starts that fire of blessing today, and watch how God blesses you in return.
"You are like a light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl: instead it is put on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine before people,so they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14 - 16.
Merry Christmas Blessing
