BAPTISM

About Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward expression of our inward faith. We don’t go through baptism to be saved, we are saved and baptism is the outward expression of our salvation. Salvation comes to us when we place our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Baptism is an important first step of obedience in following Christ.

At Hope Church, we participate in “believer’s baptism” as opposed to infant baptism. The Bible teaches that when a person comes to faith, they are to follow in obedience by being baptized. This was the model of the early church. (Acts 8:12) Baptism is not necessary for salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

A baptism class is required prior to being baptized at Hope Church. We offer classes periodically throughout the year. Check our Events page for signups.
