Student Pastor

The Student Pastor at Hope Church provides leadership for our Student Ministry and Young Adult Ministry. Through strong relational and teaching gifts, the Student Pastor creates opportunities for students and young adults to connect with one another, with God, and with other adults in meaningful community to help them grow in their faith. The role requires the ability to relate to the next generation and provide engaging environments and opportunities to both learn and put action to their growing faith.


The ideal candidate will be:

Formal Bible or Theology training at a college level is preferred.
Ordained or licensed with the EFCA or willing to obtain licensure within 12-18 months of hire.
Past experience in student ministry in some sort of leadership capacity.
Strong faith in Jesus Christ and fully aligned with Hope Church’s statement of faith
High emotional intelligence along with an ability to handle sensitive and difficult situations with families.
An ability to recruit, train, build into and coach a large team of volunteers.
Can carry on the vision established for the student ministry, as well as the church as a whole

RESPONSIBILITIES

For every student to be known and cared for in the community.
For each student to have a meaningful relationship with at least one Christian adult who positively impacts their faith and helps them wrestle with what it looks like to live out their faith in today’s culture.
Students will be encouraged to use their unique gifts to serve in the church and the community.
Students will be given opportunities to lead and also have a voice through an active student leadership team.
That difficult cultural topics will be tackled so that students can talk through, think about, and develop a Christian worldview about how to engage culture.
For parents to be equipped to help their students grow in faith and navigate the rapid changes they experience from middle school to high school to college and adulthood.
