Changing your B to a Y

Updated: Feb 14, 2022

Job vs. Joy

We have all been around people who always have a smile on their face. Not a fake smile but a genuine, "I am enjoying life" smile.

What causes them to be able to do that?

I believe it comes from our attitude toward whatever it is that we are doing.

Working in the church as a volunteer and on staff for over 30 years has helped me learn a lot.

One thing I have struggled with over the years is changing my mindset from walking into the church and seeing it as a job versus a joy.

Whether you are working at a church, or any other job. Whether you are serving as a volunteer in a church, or any other organization. As a parent, do you see it as a joy or a job (I know, I know, some days you see it as a punishment from God)? If you go into it as a joy, and not just a job, your attitude will be so much different.

I believe God wants us to live our lives with joy no matter where we are. Whether at work, volunteering, with family and friends or whatever you are doing.

Joy cannot be forced or faked. It does not come from our circumstances, it comes from within.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. –James 1:2-3

Joy comes when we truly understand who God is.

Job vs Joy: So try changing your "b" to a "y" and see how that changes your outlook on life.
